Member Self Publishing
Overview
One of the primary benefits we offer our members is long-term, reliable tracking service. ClearBits has been in operation since 2003 (previously as LegalTorrents), over 9 years now. We provide three Bittorrent trackers for our members on three separate networks for redundancy.
To self-publish, you do two steps. Step 1, create a torrent using our trackers (listed below), and Step 2, you add the resulting SHA1 Hash value on the website.Member Trackers
The addresses of our trackers are:
http://membertracker001.clearbits.net:7979/announce http://membertracker002.clearbits.net:7979/announce http://membertracker003.clearbits.net:7979/announceMembers can use these 3 addresses when creating new torrents, either for primary tracking service or as backup trackers for an existing tracker solution.Step 1: Create the torrent to publish
Many different Bittorrent Clients and other software create torrent files. As an example, using Transmission, you select File, then "Create Torrent File..."

Next, select the content to include for distribution (a directory or files). Then you add the trackers above in the box that says "trackers", by pressing "+". It will look like this:

add a comment if you want, and select "Create".
Very similar creation tools exist in other software. Please contact us for help if you have difficulties creating torrents.
Step 2: Adding the SHA1 Hash
Each torrent has a 40-character string with digits (0-9) and letters (a-f). Your Bittorrent client will list the value as the "Hash:" or something similar. In this example, using Transmission, the hash is found in the "info" panel and has a value of "997e262e6a32fec5091d34637e99e531aab1c250".

Paste your hash value into the SHA1 Hash value here to add the content to the LgalTorrents tracker. The "Self Publish" link in the upper right of the web page also brings you to this form.
Adding hash value is not required for the tracking to start. You can try the service without a membership. However, taking this step prevents other users from flagging the content as copyright infringing, and removing it from the tracker automatically.
What about Copyright?
We respond to all DMCA requests and similar takedown requests. If you are a rights holder and see content redistribution using ClearBits trackers without permission, please notify us immediately: Login, and provide Feedback. If you know the hash string of the content tracked on our trackers, you can immediately remove the item from our trackers by flagging the SHA1 hash to our blacklist .
