Great Public Domain Literature and Audio books!

Great Public Domain Literature! These books have survived the ages and now have been reborn in a digital format. While quality paper books are expensive to preserve and protect digital copies can be stored on many individual users’ private media protecting them and providing access for future generations. Works are drawn from a variety of sources but most content is provided by Librivox or Project Gutenberg. These are volunteer organizations that preserve great public domain literature as plain text some of which is hand crafted into audio books read by actual humans. Machine reading is wonderful but it does not recreate the presence and warmth of a human reader. You may access their files directly from their website at www.librivox.org or www.gutenberg.org. Librivox contend is no rights reserved and creative commons http://creativecommons.org/licenses/publicdomain/. Most project Gutenberg content is public domain but each file contains specific information as some authors allow free distribution but have reserved specific rights. Both organizations encourage you to copy and redistribute their work to others at no charge. Please enjoy the works of these many volunteers and share them in your community.
