The Peony Pavilion

The Peony Pavilion is a play written by Tang Xianzu in the Ming Dynasty and first performed in 1598 at the Pavilion of Prince Teng.[1] One of Tang's "Four Dreams", it has traditionally been performed as a Kunqu opera, but Chuan and Gan opera versions also exist. It is by far the most popular play of the Ming Dynasty, and is the primary showcase of the guimendan role type. All Kun theatre troupes include it in their repertoire. Recent adaptations have sought to inject new life into one of China's best-loved classical operas, though such efforts have met with opposition from the Kun opera traditionalists. [SOURCE]

Saga, featuring several prepared/circuit-bent guitars played by Tom Fahy (Lead I), Rachael Eisley (Lead II), Alvaro Macaya, and Vicente Labarca, tells the multi-generational tale of the lusty, violent, sea-faring McDougall clan (of which Eisley is a descendant)...

Although not popular with listeners, the group consider Saga their favorite recording. The irregularly-shaped sound-stage was developed by Liu Kaige, who also taped. Zhang Li and Marco Falabella play bass. Thomas Byrne and Jiang Dan play drums...

Not meant to be stylistically coherent, 5MtM is a 'tuning' album, with each successive track of which Timbretronics™ was stressed in an effort to judge its sonic capabilities..., hence the repetitive nature of the tracks.

Zhang Li, (b. 1 September 1976), a first-generation Chinese-American, is the daughter of inventor Sammo Li. Upon graduation from the University of Hawaii in 1999 where she was studying archaeology, she began her collaboration with Fahy, writing parts for bass, electric xindi, oboe, flute, zither and upright bass. Like Dan and Eisley, Li is a self-trained musician. As a solo-artist, she builds upon Fahy's work with genetic algorithms to develop compositional sound synthesis algorithms that interpret L-Systems.

Our debut album, Indigo, is finally out! We produced 11 tracks of different genres like progressive house, techno, electro, dubstep, and glitch-hop, trying to cater to different dance floor tastes, because we, as listeners, like several different styles and dynamic albums as well, able to provide different emotional states. We started working on this album part time on September 2011, using some of our old tracks and remixing them, but most of the album was produced from scratch. It was quite difficult to get the album finished, due to epic system crashes (we love Windows LOL), lack of time and concentration so in late February we had the album finished. So here it is! Liu Kaige - Three Works

Liu Kaige, (b. 8 April 1968), a San Francisco native, not only plays the bass cello, violin and gehu, but also serves as the group's (Tom Fahy) chief technologist and sound engineer. Kaige, once a renowned North Shore pipeline surfer, was introduced to Fahy through his cousin, Jiang Dan. It was Kaige that developed the group's first sound-stage in Haleiwa on Waialua Bay. There, the group in its infancy began to flesh out the sounds that would inform their later works.
