Behaviour in Public Places EP

Nick's second online release of 2008. 'Leonards Lair' webzine said this: ‘Behaviour In Public Places’ expands his oeuvre still further with electronic instrmentals aided by choice samples. Opener ‘Lunar Premiere’ is familiar territory as it features bouncy beats and dreamy synth washes. Then, surprisingly, ‘Rise And Be Strong’ moves into dub and trip-hop territory. As the title suggests, ‘Tastes Like Chicken’ is more of a novelty with various samples of the title being spoken against a backdrop of Spanish guitars and a cheesy Eastern European tune. Finally, ‘Series 20′ is once again immersed in dubby atmospheres but its dreamy electronica serves as a reminder that Hopkin is a serious musical talent. Once again it’s hard to pinpoint a particular Nick Hopkin sound but his playful and inventive music is always worth a listen, especially when it’s free to download.
